Rugby Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines the terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Rental Vehicle Requirements
- To rent a vehicle, drivers must be a minimum of 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type. Those under 25 may incur extra fees. A valid full driving licence is required, along with identification and proof of address. Valid payment information and a security deposit are also necessary, along with any other stipulations outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payments
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Rugby location. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment, along with a security deposit, is generally required upon collecting your vehicle. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, with transactions handled securely through trusted payment processors.
4. Vehicle Pick-Up and Drop-Off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed at this time. Please return the vehicle in the same condition as when it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. You are also required to return the vehicle with the same level of fuel as at collection; otherwise, you may incur refueling charges. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please inform us as soon as possible if you anticipate a delay. You are liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, in addition to an administrative fee.
5. Insurance and Responsibility
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. Detailed coverage information and excess amounts are outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to help lower your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount unless you opt for further coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms will be your responsibility, regardless of insurance provisions.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Keep in mind that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any actions that pose a risk. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden, as is using the vehicle for unintended purposes. Exceeding passenger or weight limits is unacceptable. Driving beyond the agreed geographical boundaries requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Rugby is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our overall liability for any claims will not exceed the total amount you paid for the rental in the past year. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.
Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon publication on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
